In 2023, she began writing whimsical children’s books as personalized birthday gifts for her great-nephews, Teddy and Kit. These stories quickly became an expression of her deep belief in the importance of curiosity, imagination, and connecting with the natural world. Outside of writing, Mary enjoys great food, the outdoors, practicing and sharing yoga, and swapping tales with her family members.

Mary is passionate about the environment and knows firsthand how much joy and inspiration people—especially children—can find in the great outdoors.

For over 20 years, Mary has been a professional writer, working on everything from magazine features to full-length books. She’s had the privilege of helping authors bring their unique voices to life, including those writing in a second language. Whether crafting a piece about mindfulness, health, or the arts, Mary’s goal is always the same: to create something thoughtful, relatable, and impactful.

Her career has included writing for respected publications like Virginia Living and STYLE WEEKLY, where her contributions helped earn accolades for Arts & Culture coverage. As a ghostwriter, she’s collaborated on books that range from yoga therapy to brain health, always tailoring her work to fit the author’s vision.

What sets Mary apart is her genuine love for people and stories. She brings warmth, humor, and a thoughtful touch to every project she takes on. Outside of writing, Mary enjoys the outdoors, sharing and practicing yoga, supporting arts and culture and annoying her grown children.

Before long, Keisha isn't just clearing her yard-she's making new friends! When the goats finish their job, the vines are gone, and the yard is perfect for playing.
